On Monday, Octboer 28th, Big K.R.I.T. paid homage to his hometown of Meridian, Mississippi with the drop of his new music video for the track “M.I.S.S.I.S.S.I.P.P.I.”. Even though he’s currently on the road, the rapper is wasting no time releasing new projects. The Danja-produced track originally landed on his K.R.I.T. Iz Here album this summer.
The clip gives a real life depiction of Meridian, heading from the basketball gym to the barber shop and an inside look at the former Def Jam artist’s neighborhood. K.R.I.T. and his live band walk down to their local hall to do their part in keeping the party going.
“Maybe I’m so southern I sometimes scare ignorant people’s perception of independence,” K.R.I.T. spells out the acronym for his home state, in what he believes is the first track to positively rep for Mississippi. “I’m from MISSISSIPPI!”
