24kGoldn’s Mood Makes it’s way onto Rock Charts

“Mood” is a song by American rapper and singer 24kGoldn featuring Puerto Rican-born American rapper Iann Dior. Shortly after its release on July 24, 2020, it garnered popularity on the video-sharing app TikTok, and became a chart success worldwide, peaking at number one in the United States, the United Kingdom and several other countries. The pop rock-tinged “summer” track and its accompanying video finds the rappers detailing their toxic relationships. The song became the first song to top the Hot 100, Hot Rock & Alternative Songs, Hot Alternative Songs, and Hot Rap Songs charts in the same week.

“Why you always in a mood?
F*ckin ’round, actin’ brand new
I ain’t tryna tell you what to do
But try to play it cool
Baby, I ain’t playing by your rules
Everything look better with a view”

24kGoldn had teased the song continuously on his Instagram, and on July 19, 2020, he confirmed the song’s title and release date in a video alongside Iann Dior. By August 13, it was used in over 13,000 videos on TikTok.

The song’s official video, directed by Sebastian Sdaigui, was released on August 5, 2020. It showcases the highs and lows of young love.
