Baseball’s Possible Rule Changes

Baseball has been trying to keep up with the times and is slowly trying to make the game more enjoyable for the casual viewer. They feel they are making the right move with two possible changes. These ruled would be in effect by the 2017 season and should make enough of a change for everyone to notice.

The first rule change would be the change in intentionally walking someone. In current time, pitchers must throw all four pitches to intentionally walk someone. With the rule change, once the manager voices his decision to do such a thing, the batter would be immediately sent to first base.

The other rule change we could see is the change in the strike zone. Instead of the bottom of the strike zone being at “the hollow beneath the kneecap,” the strike zone would begin at the top of the hitter’s knees. This could potentially mean more walks and therefore longer games, but it should also mean more runs as well.

The MLB has made changes in recent years to try and better the game and it’s that effort that we appreciate as baseball fans.
