Baseball Headlines Found Around the World

Baseball is a game we all know and love and we’re not just talking about here in the United States. It is a beloved game in all parts of the world like Japan. It’s also loved at all levels including high school and college baseball as well as the professional leagues. Let’s talk about what’s going on in baseball at all levels and parts of the world…

Terry Francona is the manager of the Cleveland Indians, but he’s also a fan of University of Arizona baseball. He actually went to school there, so his $1 million donation shouldn’t surprise anyone. Arizona baseball tweeted it out earlier this week and included a very cool collage of photos from Terry now and back then when he played at Arizona.

College baseball season is set to begin and this year there is no doubt who the number one team in the country is to start the year. TCU has earned the number one ranking in every college baseball poll there is! This includes top spot rankings from the USA Today Coaches Poll, Perfect Game and D1Baseball.com among others.

The World Baseball Classic is approaching fast and one country will be without one of their best players. Japan’s Shohei Otani is one of the best young players and is widely known as the Babe Ruth of Japan. Unfortunately an injury won’t allow for him to participate in this year’s World Baseball Classic.
