Avengers: The Kang Dynasty’ Director Has Been Named, Destin Daniel Cretton of ‘Shang-Chi’

According to hollywoodreporter.com, as revealed by Kevin Feige at Marvel’s Saturday presentation at San Diego Comic-Con, back to back movies are set for 2025. Destin Daniel Cretton, who directed Marvel’s Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, has now been named to direct Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, he also is working on a Shang-Chi sequel. It is currently unclear who is writing the Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, or what heroes will be involved in the film. The film is likely to arrive May 2nd, 2025, along with another Avengers movie, Avengers: Secret Wars, November 7th, 2025. Kang will be played by Jonathan majors, and a version of him will be re-introduced in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, on February 17th, 2023. Directing an Avengers film is considered very high profile in Hollywood, Joss Whedon directed the first two Avengers movies, and Joe and Anthony Russo filmed the two part Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. Cretton earned his way into directing an Avengers film through a series of dramatic movies such as Short Term 12 and Just Mercy, while being represented by WME, Pangea Media and Goodman Genow.
