Avenged Sevenfold Postpones South American Tour After Vocal Injury Sidelines Lead Singer

Avenged Sevenfold have announced the postponement of their upcoming South American tour due to a serious vocal injury suffered by frontman M. Shadows. The band revealed that he has been diagnosed with a vocal fold hematoma, a condition involving bleeding into the vocal cord tissue, prompting them to delay shows until early 2026.

Originally scheduled to kick off on September 25 in Buenos Aires, the tour was expected to cover Argentina, Chile, Brazil, Colombia, Mexico, and Puerto Rico, with supporting acts including A Day to Remember, Mr. Bungle, Poppy, and Karen Dió.

In a video message, M. Shadows explained that after falling ill following the Louder Than Life festival, his condition worsened despite rest, and testing confirmed the recurrence of the same kind of injury he sustained in 2017. The singer admitted he cannot risk further damage or surgery and emphasized that taking time to recover now is the “responsible decision.”

The band reassured fans that all tickets will remain valid for the rescheduled dates, which are expected to be announced soon. While the postponement is a setback for fans across Latin America, the decision underscores the precarious nature of vocal health in demanding tours. Avenged Sevenfold say they’re determined to return stronger and deliver the performances they intended—just on a new timeline.
