Australia Bans Kanye West Following Release of Controversial Song “Heil H*tler”

Kanye West, now legally known as Ye, has been barred from entering Australia following the release of his inflammatory track Heil Hitler, which has drawn widespread condemnation and been pulled from major platforms including Spotify, Apple Music, and YouTube.

Australian Home Affairs Minister Tony Burke confirmed the visa cancellation during an interview with ABC’s Afternoon Briefing, stating that Ye’s recent song crossed a clear line, prompting officials to revoke his travel privileges. “Once he released the Heil Hitler song, he no longer has a valid visa in Australia,” Burke explained.

While Ye has long-standing family ties to Australia—his wife, Bianca Censori, is a Melbourne native—the government made it clear that offensive rhetoric, especially referencing Adolf Hitler, would not be tolerated. Burke emphasized the decision wasn’t just about public speeches but a broader stance against “importing hatred.”

The Australian government enforces strict character requirements for non-citizens under the Migration Act. Ye’s recent controversies and history of antisemitic remarks have intensified scrutiny.

Though the rapper has previously toured Australia, this ban effectively blocks future performances or appearances unless his behavior and public statements change significantly.
