Every month, Aldi surprises shoppers with delicious new products that are only available for a limited time. In the upcoming April lineup, fans of the budget-friendly supermarket chain can look forward to hearty frozen meals, flavorful appetizers, fun snacks, and sweet treats to celebrate the start of spring.
As Food & Wine reports, thanks to its German roots, Aldi always offers a selection of German bites and beverages among its inventory, but this month will be extra special with the addition of 13 new German items, from schnitzel and strudel to Bavarian pretzels.
As usual, all 45 new items will be released on Wednesdays, gradually rolling out throughout the month and available in stores until they sell out. Here’s every new find you can pick up at Aldi over the next few weeks, plus the specific drop dates and prices for each one.
What to Look for in the Freezer Aisle
In addition to affordable prices for basics, Aldi is known for its impressive lineup of freezer finds. Several new frozen offerings are coming to the chain in April, including main dishes like the puff pastry-wrapped Specially Selected Prawn & White Wine Salmon Wellington, Fremont Fish Market Lobster Cakes, and Mama Cozzi’s Thin Crust Chicken Fajita Pizza.
For a quick and easy office lunch, stock up on several of the Whole & Simple Edamame Energy Bowls, which feature a rice and quinoa base, edamame, black beans, broccoli, and red bell peppers, delivering 21 grams of protein in each serving. Parents may want to try a family-friendly dinner option that’s arriving on April 22, the Casa Mamita Enchiladas. The ready-to-bake frozen entree feeds eight people for $16 and comes in three variations: cheese, chicken, or black bean and corn.
If you’re hosting any gatherings this April, keep an eye out for shareable frozen finds like the Casa Mamita Chicken Mini Tacos — filled with shredded chicken, Monterey Jack cheese, and green salsa — or Casa Mamita Mini Empanadas. For movie nights we’ll be grabbing the Casa Mamita Beef & Cheese Stuffed Nachos, a unique offering that stars breaded nachos stuffed with seasoned beef and cheese.
German Fare For You
Craving a taste of Oktoberfest in April? An array of limited-time German dishes will hit Aldi’s shelves on April 29, ranging from ready-to-cook meals to savory pastries, traditional sides, and snacks. There’s enough to easily plan an entire German dinner party, starring items like Aldi’s Deutsche Küche Pork or Chicken Schnitzel, Deutsche Küche Cheese Spätzle, and Deutsche Küche Bavarian Soft Pretzels.
The fan-favorite Deutsche Küche Spinach & Ricotta Strudel will finally be making its return. To satisfy afternoon snack cravings, consider adding the Deutsche Küche Cornichons, Deutsche Küche Chocolate Flavored Wafers, or Deutsche Küche Peanut Puffs to your grocery cart as well.
Make Room for Dessert
Shoppers with a sweet tooth won’t be left out of Aldi’s April drop. A few of the sweet treats we’ll be eyeing first include Clancy’s Cinnamon Churros (crispy churro treats coated in cinnamon-sugar), Benton’s Aussie-Style Cookies (chocolate-covered wafer cookies), Sundae Shoppe Cinnamon Churro Ice Cream Sandwiches (filled with salted caramel ice cream), and, for all the Dubai chocolate fans out there, Mattigan’s Dubai-Style Pistachio Cream Spread.
To treat yourself on a stressful morning, pick up the new Breakfast Best Mini Stuffed Pancakes, which contain a rich chocolate-hazelnut filling. As usual, there’s something for everyone at Aldi.
