Ariana Grande Drops New Single ‘Yes, And?’ with a Defiant Message

Ariana Grande, the renowned Grammy-winning artist, has once again captivated her audience with the release of her latest single, “Yes, And?”. The track, which debuted on Friday, features a pulsating house beat reminiscent of Madonna’s iconic “Vogue,” setting the stage for Grande’s message of self-assertion and indifference to criticism.

In “Yes, And?”, Grande boldly addresses the incessant gossip and scrutiny that have accompanied her rise to global pop superstardom. The song is a powerful statement of self-acceptance, with lyrics like “Now I’m so done with caring / What you think, no I won’t hide / underneath your own projections / Or change my most authentic life.” The track resonates with the empowered spirit of her 2018 album “Sweetener” and the brassy attitude of 2019’s “thank u, next.”

This latest single marks Grande’s first musical release since her 2020 album “Positions” and is a precursor to her highly anticipated seventh studio album. “Yes, And?” was recorded in New York City with her longtime collaborators Max Martin and Ilya Salmanzadeh, the duo behind some of her greatest hits.

Grande, who first teased new music in December, announced “Yes, And?” on Monday, exciting fans and celebrities alike, including Nicki Minaj who expressed readiness for the new track. Additionally, Grande, set to star as Glinda in the upcoming “Wicked” film adaptation, is preparing to release the music video for “Yes, And?” adding a visual dimension to her defiant message. The release is not just a new chapter in her musical career but also a statement of her resilience and independence in the face of public scrutiny.
