Ariana Grande received a heartfelt birthday tribute from her biggest supporter — her mom, Joan Grande. The pop superstar shared a sweet Instagram post a day after her 31st birthday, featuring a black-and-white photo of herself smiling with her eyes closed as she enjoyed some cucumber slices.
“Thank you and love you 🫧 hello 31 :),” the “Wicked” actress captioned the post. Her mom quickly added a loving comment, “I love you my sweet sweet angel.”
The birthday wishes didn’t stop there. Jonathan Van Ness chimed in with, “Happiest birthday queen ❤️❤️,” and musician Imogen Heap reflected on their friendship. “Happy birthday gorgeous creature! Xx sending you some cooked lentils and beans (or whatever it was I cooked!) to mark our meeting for your 21st,” Heap wrote. “Did you spend the evening a little nervous driving up and down a dark rural lane to get to your destination this year? Wow, times were different then x.”
Grande also took a moment to reflect on her journey by sharing an Instagram video of herself singing as a young girl. The comments section was flooded with well-wishes from celebrity friends like Cynthia Erivo and Reese Witherspoon. Her older brother, Frankie Grande, added, “A STAR WAS BORN!! 🫶🫶🫶.”
The singer’s talent was evident from a young age, as her mother once recounted. “She was probably 3, 3½. And she was in her car seat and I was driving and listening to NSYNC as every mother should be,” Joan recalled. “She hit one of JC [Chasez]’s power high notes and I kind of pulled the car over and I said, ‘Ariana, was that you?'”
Grande’s bond with her family remains strong. On National Siblings Day, Frankie shared a touching Instagram tribute, thanking her for “being there for me through thick and thin.” He wrote, “From helping me with my sobriety journey to showing up for me at big moments in my life and career. You are the best sister anyone could ask for and I’m eternally proud of you and all the sunshine you continue to spread in this world 🫧💕.”
