Apple Delays Jessica Chastain’s The Savant Just Days Before Scheduled Launch

In a surprising turn of events, Apple TV+ has postponed the premiere of The Savant, starring Jessica Chastain, mere days before its original September 26 release. A sleek crime thriller that follows an undercover investigator infiltrating online hate groups to stop domestic extremism, the series was highly anticipated for its topical and tense premise.

The streamer released a statement: “After careful consideration, we have made the decision to postpone The Savant,” promising a future date but offering no specific timeline. While Apple declined to specify motives, many industry watchers link the delay to recent political violence and public sensitivities around extremist content.

Chastain, who also serves as an executive producer, has not publicly responded to the postponement. The series’ ensemble includes Nnamdi Asomugha, Cole Doman, Jordana Spiro, and Pablo Schreiber. The Savant was originally set to drop its first two episodes on September 26, followed by weekly installments through November 7. Now, fans are left waiting, and speculation is mounting over when — and if — the series will return to Apple’s slate.
