Tim Cook, Apple CEO is going to be receiving a massive pay cut this year due to investor and shareholder guidance after Cook’s compensation rose to $99,4 million during the 2022 fiscal year. For the 2023 year, his pay will drop down to $49 million, a more than 40 percent drop from his prior years pay. Alternatively, his percentage based stock awards will rise to 75 percent starting this year and going forward.
Meanwhile, Apple TV+ had CODA win the best-picture Oscar making Apple the first streamer to win the award. While Apple has also released the Iphone 14 as well as new MacBooks.
Cook made a statement about the Apple TV+ prince increase during an earnings call on October 27th saying, “We’re very focused on originals only, and so we had four or five shows or so in the beginning and priced it quite low, We now have a lot more content and are coming out with more each and every month, and so we we increase the price to represent the value of the service.”
Apple TV+’s service brought in $19.2 billion in revenue during the fourth fiscal quarter.
