It’s not unusual for Hollywood and politics to intersect; the ‘Hollywood Blacklist’ in the late 40s drew national attention and ruined the lives of hundreds. More recently, stars and politicians have openly disagreed for years on policy and decision, while today’s celebrities are making no secret for their distaste of current political events.
In the case of the early 90s nomination of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, one of the earliest sexual discrimination/harassment cases hit the national spotlight, as Anita Hill was questioned concerning her allegations against Thomas; to no avail as he was eventually confirmed.
Well, in the odd case of karma, Anita has been brought aboard by Hollywood executives to chair the Commission on Sexual Harassment and Advancing Equality in the Workplace. Others on the board include Bon Iger from Disney, Dawn Hudson CEO of the Academy Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences, and top execs from Netflix, CBS, Sony, Paramount, Universal and Amazon.
