Amy Schumer is no stranger to telling it like it is, and her latest revelations on the Call Her Daddy podcast have fans buzzing. The comedian and actress got candid about her past romantic escapades, including a one-time hookup with a professional baseball player, while also dishing about her new Netflix comedy, Kinda Pregnant.
Schumer’s Baseball Hookup Confession
During her appearance on the podcast, which aired Jan. 22, Schumer shared a memorable story when host Alex Cooper asked about her “craziest fan interaction.” Laughing as she admitted she’d never shared this story before, Schumer said, “When I was at sort of my peak, touring arenas, whatever … were they a professional athlete? Sure.”
She went on to describe the hookup: “Did I text them late at night and they came over, went down on me and then I said, ‘I’m so tired, I’m so sorry,’ and they left? Yes.” Looking directly at the camera, she cheekily added, “And you know who you are.”
The Trainwreck star joked about how this kind of scenario has happened more than once, quipping that she might “get canceled” for such admissions. She tied the story to her own work, noting, “That’s a moment in Trainwreck — that’s from real life.”
A Peek at Kinda Pregnant
Schumer’s sharp wit extends from real life to her work on the big screen, and her upcoming Netflix comedy, Kinda Pregnant, is no exception. Set to debut on Feb. 5, the movie is a laugh-out-loud exploration of friendship, jealousy, and unexpected romance.
In the film, Schumer plays Lainy, a Brooklyn English teacher who fakes a pregnancy after feeling envious of her best friend Kate’s (played by Jillian Bell) journey to motherhood. Her charade spirals into chaos when she meets her dream man, Josh (Will Forte), forcing her to maintain an increasingly elaborate lie.
Schumer Highlights Societal Pressures
Speaking about the film earlier this month, Schumer said, “Our society loves to make women feel like they are failing. This story shows women as human beings who are trying to make choices that are right for them and having fun together along the way.”
She also praised Forte, who stars opposite her as the romantic lead: “Will Forte is the funniest person alive, and now people will see what a great romantic lead he is too.”
Relatable and Real
Between her hilarious podcast confessions and her knack for turning life’s awkward moments into comedy gold, Schumer is keeping audiences entertained on all fronts. Fans can catch her in Kinda Pregnant on Netflix starting Feb. 5.
