Amy Adams is talking about a new project she’s pretty excited about, and the word on the street is we’re all likely to be as excited to hear more. Amy is considering and negotiating with Annapurna Pictures to star in the drama ‘The True American.’
‘The True American’ is set in Texas post 9/11, the real story of Rais Bhuiyan, a Muslim immigrant who is experienced as a Bangladesh Air Force veteran, narrowly surviving a shoot ‘em’ up that took the lives of two other immigrants. Amy is the actress who was memorable in ‘Catch Me If You Can,’ ‘Charlie Wilson’s War,’ ‘American Hustle,’ and ‘Arrival’ for which she earned various nominations. Amy was fairly quiet in 2017, but her 2018 films include ‘Sharp Objects’ and ‘Backseat,’
‘The True American’ producers are also hoping to sign Mark Ruffalo and Kumail Nanjiani to the project, with more details expected this spring.
