Amazon’s Trouble Riddled Drama, “Citadel”, Was Just Renewed For A Season 2

Citadel is a very pricy, trouble riddled drama from the Russo brothers at Amazon that has been worked on since 2018, and is now getting a second season. Sources report that the series which features Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Richard Madden was renewed for a second season prior to its April 28th debut. However, Amazon and reps for the Russo brothers declined to comment as they say deals have not yet been finalized.

Reports from last September, show that the budget for Citadel has made its way north of $200 million after reshoots and almost half of the show’s creative team left due to creative differences.

Citadel ended up parting ways with showrunner Josh Appelbaum and director Brian Kirk with the Russos hiring David Weil, to take over the show and give it a grounded take while overseeing $75 million in reshoots. Weil will remain the showrunner for season two as the Russos are expected to direct multiple episodes of the show.
