They say you can pick your friends but you can’t pick your relatives. Having a family business is part of the American entrepreneurial dream. Imagine building a company or brand side by side with a brother or sister – it can be both rewarding and difficult. Here’s part two or our look at rockers that were connected by DNA.

The Allman Brothers Band – Duane and Gregg Allman were not only siblings, but music virtuoso’s on their one. Duane’s untimely death left Greg to record for decades, and hey someone had to marry Cher.

The Beach Boys – Brian, Carl and Dennis Wilson are the perfect example of bothers in musical arms; we know that their dad Murray produced and directed their success.

The Kinks – Dave and Ray Davies are brothers who shared the same vision of rock.

Kings of Leon – The Followill Brothers from TN named the band after their dad Leon.

Heart – Ann and Nancy Wilson continue to rock today.

Creedence Clearwater Revival – John and Tom Fogerty are another brotherly example of family members that were nicer to each other on stage, than off stage. Tom died of AIDS complications in 1990, having battled AIDS received due to a blood transfusion.
