Allie Colleen is following in her dad, Garth Brooks footsteps with her own music career. She recently shared a new track, “Honest Man,” that was released on February 10th. The song was written along with Kate Hasting, Vinny Vencent and Lance Carpenter, and is about an everlasting love story.
The track has Colleen asking someone she is interested in to marry her, professing her love for him and having a desire to “set these plans with a stone.” Colleen even admits to the song being a flip of the cultural norm, adding that she wanted to write a song that shows off a bold woman.
Colleen made an official statement about the track that reads, “I believe in pursuing who and what you love, This song might reverse the cultural norm of ‘him asking her,’ but I would be more than honored to meet a man who made me feel feminine enough to love my strengths as a partner — not alone a woman. This song is how I would ask a man to marry me. I have gotten to witness this song encourage women to be brave, and use this as a part of their own proposals to their partners, and to them, I would just like to say — I look forward to the fact my nieces get to grow up seeing women all around them be as bold as you.”
“Honest Man” is the first release by Colleen of 2023, with previous singles that include “Halos and Horns” and “Feels Like.” She also had a February tour that just concluded in Flint, Michigan on February 24th.
