Alice Cooper does a deep dive in “Who I Am: The Diary of a Vampire” as part of the newest edition of Audible’s Words + Music series.
For the project, the hard rock legend tells a number of road stories, his writing process, and experiences shared with other rockers over the years. Cooper also chose to record new, “lounge” versions of “I’m Eighteen” and “School’s Out.”
Although he has notoriously promised fans he would never be seen doing acoustic versions of Alice Cooper songs, Cooper admits that it’s “kind of a cool thing to do” for the project. “As long as they have a hint of a sense of humor in it,” he explains in a recent interview, “I think it’s a great idea.”
