They say age is just a number. Here’s a list of rockers that are, or will be turning 70 this year. Please accept our apology if this also makes you feel like 70…
Mick Jagger is 70 this year, but frankly he looks it. Recently inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall this year Steve Miller turned 70 this past July, while most of the living Beach Boys are at least 70s; Al Jardine turns 71 this month. Brian Wilson is also 71.
At 71 we salute Sir Paul McCartney, Aretha Franklin, Graham Nash, and Art Garfunkel. His music partner Paul Simon is a brisk 72, along with David Crosby, Bob Dylan, and the Rolling Stones drummer Charlie Watts. Neil Diamond and Eric Burdon are also 72.
Rockers that have turned 73 or will be 73 this year are Ringo Starr, Smokey Robinson, and Dion. Don Everly is 76, Jerry Lee Lewis is 76, and Frankie Valli is 79, while the 80s club includes Little Richard, Fats Domino, and Chuck Berry.
