According to ultimateclassicrock.com, Aerosmith recently performed their first post-pandemic concert last night, September fourth, in Bangor, Maine. Guitarist Joe Perry is quoted in saying, “This is our first fuckin’ gig in two and a half years, All we’ve been doing is lying on our backs and watching Netflix.” The band’s last live performance was on February 15th, 2020 in Las Vegas as part of the band’s Deuces Are Wild residency. Aerosmith was scheduled for a European tour this summer, but had to cancel due to concerns about COVID-19. In March of 2022 the band announced that they would be resuming their Las Vegas residency to celebrate their 50th anniversary, though it was then announced Joey Kramer would not join as he took a “temporary leave of absence.” The band’s drum technician, John Douglas, filled in for Kramer at the recent show. Aerosmith’s 2022 run was supposed to begin in June and last until December, but was delayed by Steven Tyler entering rehab. Aerosmith will play another concert on September 8th in Boston, before the band relaunches their Las Vegas residency on September 14th. A complete list of the shows dates can be found on the band official website.
