Recently we have discussed the year-end charts from Mediabase, which covers the United States, but what about how all of the hits have been received in the UK? Official Charts Company released their year-end album chart and there are plenty of big names on it.
The number one album of 2016 came from Adele! “25” was an amazing album for her and the success it had in the UK could not be matched. Her second to last album, “21,” also made the chart at number 47. The number two hit album in 2016 came from Coldplay while Michael Ball & Alfie Boe’s latest album rounded out the top three.
Justin Bieber’s “Purpose” landed at number four on the chart to no one’s surprise. Packed with so many hits, if anything we’re surprised it didn’t finish even higher!
At number eight we see Drake’s “Views” while Beyonce’s “Lemonade” finished just outside the top 10 at number 11. Other big names in the music industry to finish inside the top 25 include Michael Buble (Nobody But Me – 13), Sia (This is Acting – 16), Ed Sheeran (X – 20), Michael Buble (Christmas – 23) and Bruno Mars (24K Magic – 24).
