Let’s Rock Back to 1976!

1976 seems like a lifetime ago, given that we’re all spending so much time on Facebook, Twitter, and Netflix. If we could take a time machine back to 1976, we would be reminded that the number song of that year was the Elton John John/Kiki Dee Song “Don;t Go Breaking My Heart.” PEZ candy was new to consumers, and our country was celebrating our 200th birthday! Here’s the Top Rock Songs from 1976 in October of that year..

1.) “If You Leave Me Now” Chicago
2.) “Silly Love Songs” Paul McCartney
3.) “Tonight’s the Night” Rod Stewart
4.) “You Make Me Feel Like Danging” Leo Sayer
5.) “Let Em In” Paul McCartney
6.) “Blinded by the Light” Manfred Mann
7.) “Rock N’ Me” Steve Miller
8.) “New Kid in Town” Eagles
9.) “I’d Really Like to See You Tonight” England Dan/John Ford Coley

Prologue: It turns out this was a great year for rock, as Paul, Steve, Chicago and the Eagles are all now in the Rock N’ Roll Hall of Fame. Paul and Rod are ‘Sir’ being knighted by the Queen as well.
