In the mid-60s, women performers held their own in the music industry. Diana Ross and the Supremes, Martha Reeves, Dusty Springfield, and the one and only Petula Clark were frequently starring in their own sold out shows, earning their own fame and fortune.

Petula was a gangbuster performer, hitting the charts with legendary songs like “Downtown,” “Don’t Sleep in the Subway,” “I Know a Place,” “I Couldn’t Live Without Your Love,” and “My Love.” “Downtown” was the first of 15 consecutive songs that hit the charts. Along the way, she earned a few Grammys and not surprisingly has songs that have been inducted into the Hall of Fame. You must see Petula as she tours this December…
