A Few of Coldplay’s Number One Hits

Coldplay is on the charts with the Chainsmokers for their song “Something Just Like This,” and spent a little time at number one. Here’s a busy band, releasing seven solo LPs, four live albums, and hitting the charts nearly 50 times. What are a few of the other Coldplay tunes that hit the top 10?

“Viva la Vida” was a number one song in 2008. The song contains overt Christian significance, earning the Grammy for ‘Song of the Year’ at the 51st Annual Grammy Awards in 2009.

“A Sky Full of Stars” was the 3rd single from the bands sixth LP, hitting number one in 2014, benefiting from the interesting video which was filmed in a suburb of Sydney AU.

“Speed of Sound” was a hit for Coldplay in 2005 after frontman Chris Martin heard a song from Kate Bush (the song bears a few musical similarities) earning two Grammy nominations in 2006.
