It has been reported that rock band The National has announced that this year’s Homecoming festival in Cincinnati, Ohio, has been canceled and will not return until 2021.
“We made every attempt to reschedule Homecoming for 2020, however due to circumstances beyond our control, the festival will not take place this year as planned,” the band said in a statement. “We look forward to bringing the event back in 2021. Stay tuned and stay safe. Take care of yourself and each other and we’ll see you soon.”
Homecoming 2020’s lineup included Patti Smith and Her Band, Of Monsters and Men, Sylvan Esso, Local Natives, Sudan Archives, Jay Som and more.
The National’s Homecoming was set to take place May 8-9 at Smale Park in their hometown of Cincinnati. The group was scheduled to play both nights of the event including a set where they would perform their hit album High Violet in its entirety to celebrate its 10th anniversary.
The band said in statement that tickets will be automatically refunded at point of purchase and purchasers will be contacted in the coming days with more details on next steps and timing.
