What did we do to deserve Dolly Parton? The country star continues to provide light amidst the coronavirus pandemic. The beloved singer has revealed that she has donated $1 million to Nashville’s Vanderbilt hospital in an effort to encourage others to do the same to help aid research to find a cure for the coronavirus.
On Wednesday morning, April 1st, the country star took to Twitter to tell her fans of her good deeds. “My longtime friend Dr. Naji Abumrad, who’s been involved in research at Vanderbilt for many years, informed me that they were making some exciting advancements towards research of the coronavirus for a cure,” Parton shared on Twitter on Wednesday morning (April 1). “I am making a donation of $1 million to Vanderbilt towards that research and to encourage people that can afford it to make donations.”
Parton has also been continually encouraging her fans to “keep the faith” amid the coronavirus crisis on social media. Earlier this week, she even announced that she’ll be taking part in a new bedtime stories video series Goodnight With Dolly, where the country singer will read bedtime stories to viewers.
