Pearl Jam Drops New Song

Rock and Roll Hall of Famers Pearl Jam have finally awoken from their hibernation. The iconic band has dropped “Dance of the Clairvoyants,” the first track lifted from their much-anticipated eleventh studio album Gigaton.

Due out March 27, Gigaton will mark the Seattle rock legends’ first album since 2013’s Grammy winner Lightning Bolt, a full eight years ago.

The track was produced with Josh Evans, and “Dance of the Clairvoyants” isn’t your typical slice of Pearl Jam. Opening with a kick and hats, with bass and then synth entering the soundscape, “Clairvoyants” has a post punk sound.

Eddie Vedder hasn’t lost any venom. On it, he sings: “Expecting perfection, leaves a lot to ignore. When the past is the present and the future’s no more, every tomorrow’s the same as before.”
