Luke Combs will release his sophomore album, What You See Is What You Get, on November 8th. The country star gave his fans an early preview with new track “1, 2 Many.”
The fast-paced drinking tune has Combs belting about how the countdown starts once a beer is in his hand. “There’s no stopping me once I get goin’,” he croons on the track alongside soaring pedal steel, riveting piano accompaniment and a driving beat.
The project features recent collaborators Brooks & Dunn. In a video for the song released Thursday, September 12th, Combs admits that he “wanted to write a song that I felt like my ‘90s country music heroes would be proud of.”
Combs’ upcoming album What You See Is What You Get follows his 2017 debut full-length This One’s for You, which has reigned at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart for 47 nonconsecutive weeks. “1, 2 Many” marks the second time he’s teamed up with Brooks & Dunn. Previously, Combs was featured on their Reboot album, out earlier this year, when he sang “Brand New Man” with the duo.
The three-minute clip has the country singer performing the new track live in concert with additional studio footage provided of Combs and Brooks & Dunn recording the track. On the final take, Combs is obviously satisfied. “Come on, that’s a country song right there,” he says.
