On Thursday, June 20th, Brantley Gilbert’s performance at Ohio’s Riverbend Music Center had to be postponed due to flooding in the area.
The singer was scheduled to perform with Michael Ray and Lindsay Ell, but officials made the decision following heavy rain in the area.
Gilbert took to Twitter to let his fans know what was going on.
“Due to the unprecedented amount of rainfall over the past few days causing the rapid rise of the Ohio River, the Brantley Gilbert concert scheduled for Thursday, June 20 has been postponed,” the venue’s website states. “The rescheduled date will be announced in the coming days. Patrons should hold on to their tickets as they will be valid for the new date.”
“I hate seeing the flooding that is goin on in the area and want to be sure y’all are stayin safe out there,” he wrote on Twitter. “We can’t risk the safety of our band, our crew and our fans.”
“I want them to have a song where they can hear my voice say ‘I love you’ and that just kind of tells them, ‘There’s going to come a time when you can figure out I’m not the super hero you’ve made me out to be. I’m human, I’ve made mistakes. I’m going to make a lot more, but there’s a man who really did hang the moon, who’s got your back and always will,’” he said.
