J. Cole’s New Music Video Celebrates His Victories

Despite recently appearing on Offset’s solo debut, on February 25th, J. Cole releases a new visual to his latest hit single “Middle Child”.

The visual begins with Cole rhyming atop the raised runway platform, a group of people at his back singing his praises. The scene pivots to a morgue, where all of the bodies are covered, though their auburn dirt-covered shoes are showcased. The Dreamville CEO then drives a Bentley truck through the mud to get to his wood cabin in the suburbs.

Cole then takes a seat by the fireplace as the camera pans to the rappers he’s taken down over the years, with each stuffed on a mantel above the fire. Each of their trophies bear engravings like “Your Favorite Rapper,” “This Could Be You,” or “Ask For a Feature.”

Jermaine ends the visual by rapping in the grocery store and even hits victory lane to celebrate his win with the team in a scene that would be straight out of a NASCAR race.
