The Recording Academy announced yesterday, that Shaggy will host this year’s Grammy Awards Premiere Ceremony before the main Grammy telecast, streaming live starting at 3:30 p.m. ET on Feb. 10 via Grammy.com.
The Premiere Ceremony, which will take place at LA’s Microsoft Theater, just across from the main show’s Staples Center location, will also feature performances by current Grammy nominees, including singer/songwriter Snatam Kaur, trumpeter Craig Morris and electronic duo Sofi Tukker. Nigerian Afrobeat artist Seun Kuti and Malian singer/songwriter Fatoumata Diawara will also take the stage together to perform.
Presenting the first Grammy Awards of the day will be current nominees Lzzy Hale of Halestorm, Kalani Pe’a, Questlove, Cécile McLorin Salvant, TOKiMONSTA and former Recording Academy chair Jimmy Jam.
The live stream of the Premiere Ceremony will be available on Grammy.com as video on demand for 90 days following the event. The 61st annual Grammy Awards will broadcast live following the pre-televised awards on CBS, starting at 8 p.m. ET/ 5 p.m. PT.
