If you’ve been to Lowe’s lately, and by this I mean checked out their Youtube channel, you’ll notice a wealth of DIY videos and shows to make even the pickiest home improvement junkie happy. But Lowe’s has taken it a step further, developing fun and informative mini-series that show exclusively for their channel subscribers.
One of these is “The Weekender,” billed as “5 projects. 2 days. 1 brand new space. That’s DIY expert Monica Mangin’s goal as she transforms problem spaces for perplexed homeowners in this real-life makeover series.”
“I believe that updating your home doesn’t have to take a lot of time or money,” Mangin says cheerily in the show’s opener. “I show people how to get Pinterest-worthy spaces that are just right for them. Give me one weekend, I’ll give you five projects, and you’ll have a completely transformed space by Monday.” JonaMangin’s fun personality and easily accessible work style made this a runaway hit for Lowe’s Youtube channel, and the Weekender Worshippers are still rabid for more as you can see by the running list of subscriber comments lamenting the absence of new episodes.
Now Daniel Coleman, Lowe’s Senior Creative Producer, has started his own min-series empire. Last season, he introduced “The Wall.” What is the Wall? According to Coleman, “The Wall is experimentation, originality, genuineness, it’s a geniuine thing. You’ve probably seen all these beautiful pictures on line of all these wall treatments people have done…. And you think, man there’s no way I can do that, it’s super complex, it’s probably super expensive,” says Coleman, cheerily. “This series is about trying to break the code on those trying to see if we can get some of those designs, some of those looks, easily, and we’ll see if they work.”
“The Wall” was such a hit, that Coleman is coming back for more. “The Door” debuts on Lowe’s Youtube channel this December. No word on when “The Weekender” will be back, though. Stay tuned….
