A particularly hot ticket for at all the runways this year is the idea of wearing one color (almost any color) head to toe with laser focus. There may have been some more literal takes on 70’s Fashion at New York’s fashion week, but the way it will affect your personal style this winter is through the color brown.
Less harsh than black, shades of brown are big news this season, following summer’s preoccupation with its lighter version, terracotta. The autumnal hue dominated the catwalks this season, with Rochas, Tod and Jacquemus all creating pieces for autumn/winter 2018. Fendi’s beige-and-chocolate monogrammed clothes and accessories and Chloé’s entire ode to every possible shade in this spectrum (often all worn within one look) were also big runway standouts.
And, the brown trend has extended beyond what you wear, to your head of hair. Rich, warm colors are in and cool, ashy hues are out. As seen on stars like Priyanka Chopra and models like Bella Hadid at the Victoria’s Secret fashion show, brunettes are back with a vengeance!
So if you’re looking to warm things up this winter, brown is definitely the new black.
