Carrie Underwood took the 2018 American Music Awards stage Tuesday night, October 9th, dramatically, as she has proven a master of doing so in past years. The singer – visibly pregnant with her second child – donned a billowing red gown to deliver a rendition of “Spinning Bottles,” a song lamenting the challenges substance abuse and addiction.
It’s a song from her new album, Cry Pretty, but not her latest single.
Earlier in the evening, Underwood won Favorite Female Country Artist, marking her 13th AMA award.
Underwood, who had already wowed the Los Angeles crowd with a striking, curve-hugging red carpet look that celebrated her pregnancy, moved amid a set filled with glass bottles and lit candles as she sang the melancholy song, which is the ninth track on her latest release.
