The college football season has already begun but starting tomorrow we’ll see ranked action for the first time this season. UCF gets us rolling and then we’ll be off! As always, we’re going to predict the four teams who are going to make the college football playoff here!
Alabama always is a clear choice and this year is just like the rest. They’ll have a dominant defense, play an average schedule getting he Iron Bowl at home this year, and have Saban on their side. It’s hard to go against that!
Clemson is starting as the second-ranked team in the country and with good reason. They have extreme talent at the receiver and running back positions, but they’re all young. That core group of players will have time to settle and show off their talent thanks to a senior quarterback that won 12 games last season and a defense with 4-5 potential first or second rounders on it this year alone.
We’re not going to pick only the favorites here, so we see Michigan here making the cut! The Wolverine won eight games last season on the backs of some of the worst quarterback play they’ve ever had. Shea Patterson, an Ole Miss transfer and former five-star quarterback, will be under center for them and has a top five defense on the other side of the football helping push them towards the top.
We’ll go with Washington for the final spot in the playoff thanks to their senior quarterback Jake Browning and soft schedule. They’ll play Auburn in week one, but this one isn’t a must-win as we’ve seen in previous years. The Huskies have among the best in recent years, so this isn’t a bold pick.
