Sometimes cars and music intersect, as we hear that Aston Martin is recreating the ‘Goldfinger’ DB5 with rotating license plates (it will be the same plate, however). The original DB5 was sold in 2010 for nearly $5 million, generating renewed interest in the car by Aston Martin.
The James Bond franchise also became the springboard for great James Bond themes or songs from the soundtrack.
“Another Way to Die” the duet from Jack White and Alicia Keys is a memorable tune.
“Goldfinger” performed by Shirley Bassey in the film of the same name was an instant classic in 1964.
Carly Simon’s ‘Nobody Does it Better” was a wonderful Bond song and top charting song for her in the 70s. People forget but Tom Jones sang “Thunderball” in 1965, while “All Time High” by Rita Coolidge were hits for the performers and the movie.
Tina Turner’s “GoldenEye” was a hit, as was “Die Another Day” from Madonna – both from big James Bond movies.
