Gene Simmons just might be the brightest marketing mind in all of music. It’s reported that he’s always made more money from the marketing of KISS than the tour or album money, and now he’s done it again with a new book that everyone will be interested in.
Gene Simmons has finished writing a book about the folklore and myths of those rock stars that died at the age of 27 called ‘27: The Legend & Mythology of the 27 Club,’ due to be published October 2nd. Gene is being ambitious by telling friends and business partners that he intends to write a series of ‘Simmons Book’s and this is the first.
Rolling Stones founder Brian Jones, Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison, Jimi Hendrix, contemporary British singer Amy Winehouse, Ron ‘Pigpen’ McKernan (Grateful Dead), Pete Ham of Badfinger, Malcolm Hale of Spanky and Our Gang, grunge superstar Kurt Cobain, and original Drifters singer Rudy Lewis all died at 27.
