Doobie Brothers Recreate Early LPs in Concert

The Doobie Brothers will do something that seems to be ‘in’ by giving a live performance of an album in its entirety. The shows are scheduled for the iconic New York Beacon Theater on November 15th and 16th, and the two LPs that concert goers will hear will be the 1973 ‘The Captain and Me’ and the 1972 ‘Toulouse Street’ albums. You’ll still hear a few chart busters at the show, but the night will focus on the early Tom Johnston led sound.

These two LPs gave the world the hit singles “Long Train Runnin’,” “China Grove” “Jesus Is Just Alright,” staple “Rockin’ Down the Highway,” and “Listen to the Music.”
Tickets for the New York Beacon performance go on sale to the public today, and below are the confirmed dates for the band this year.

September 20th, San Francisco, CA, AT&T Park (with Eagles)

October 20th, Clearwater, FL, Coachman Park
