The Match Game Returns Thursday Nights on ABC

ABC’s hit ‘retro’ television show the Match Game is in its 3rd season, with plenty of laughs and celebrity interaction. This Thursday look for James Van Der Beek, Anthony Anderson, and Ellie Kemper to shine. The show is hosted by Alec Baldwin, and yes is the reboot of the early 60s ‘The Match Game’ original, filled with honest answers and moments to remember.

The original The Match Game aired on NBC during their daytime lineup from 1962 to 1969, hosted by Gene Rayburn with Johnny Olson as the memorable announcer. The original celebrities on the daytime show were Arlene Francis and Skitch Henderson, but moved to NBC in 1969, fillign nearly 2,000 episodes. CBS took over in the 70s with the return of Gene Rayburn with Johnny Olson, and the early TV work of Richard Dawson.

Match Game airs as part of ABC’s “Sunday Fun and Games” segment, Thursdays at 9pm Est on ABC
