The “David Bowie Is” to Celebrate It’s 2 Millionth Guest

“David Bowie Is” the traveling exhibit which has been on the road for at least five years, is expected to sell its two-millionth ticket at their Brooklyn viewing, which began in early March in Brooklyn, and stays until July 15th. To honor that moment and patron, the exhibit intends to give that person with a signed lithograph of a Bowie self-portrait and “David Bowie Is” limited edition book.

David Robert Jones, better known as David Bowie, died January 10th, 2016, two days after the release of his last album ‘Blackstar.’ David was forced to change his name from David Robert Jones to David Bowie to avoid confusion with another David Jones; Jones of the Monkees.

Yes, the song “Space Oddity” from 1969 was inspired by the moon landing, and yes Major Tom was a fictional character in the song.

“Dancing in the Streets” was a duet with Mick Jagger that had Hugh commercial success and was released in 1985. The duet was performed at the “Live Aid” charity concert that year and was one of David’s best charting records.
