Country Music’s 53rd Academy of Country Music Awards proved to be the healing this nation needed, having been held in Las Vegas last night, the site of one of the worst mass shooting in our nation. The night’s biggest award went to Jason Aldean who was on stage that dreaded October night when the shooting began during the outdoor music festival, 91. Jason had all the right words to share accepting the honor.
Carrie Underwood took the stage for her first television appearance after injuring her face and wrist to perform “Cry Pretty,” and actors Ashton Kutcher and Sam Elliott presented the award of ‘Vocal Event of the Year’ to Keith Urban for his terrific song “The Fighter.” Here are the winners from the 53rd ACM Awards last night in Vegas.
