‘Sex in the City’ star Cynthia Nixon has announced her intention of running for the Governor of the state of New York, opposing current Governor Andrew Cuomo this fall. She’s putting together her team of professionals as we speak, which include previous members of the New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio’s first campaign.
Over her acting career, Cynthia has earned Tony, Grammy, and Emmy Awards, but has always been an activist. She was a member of the ‘People’s State of the Union’ collaboration this past January, an opposing voice opposite our current President’s state of the union event. As life has it, she was late for one of her first events causing her to slam Cuomo for the way he’s handled NYC’s MTA. Her early criticism of Cuomo has been against his handling of racial and economic issues plaguing the city, and for his lack of ways to increase public school funding. The Upcoming gubernatorial election will take place on November 6, 2018.
