Observations: Lynyrd Skynyrd and the Allman Brothers are the textbook definition of Southern rock, while Molly Hatchet and ZZ Top drive the lead guitar through the middle of average rock and roll. Stevie Ray from Austin, Atlanta Rhythm Section from Atlanta, and 38 Special from the heart of Dixie from Jacksonville are the best of Southern Rock.
