With the advent of the #MeToo and #TimesUp grassroots movements, this is a perfect time to be celebrating women in rock. There is no better way to honor the women of rock and roll than to support the ‘She Rock Awards’ held this year Friday, January 26th, at the House of Blues in Anaheim, California.
This year, at the music-equipment trade show The NAMM Show is an annual event, and this year B-52’s singers Cindy Wilson and Kate Pierson, Pat Benatar, and Melissa Etheridge will be honored with a ‘SheRock’ Award. The honor is intended to throw light on women in rock and roll that have made substantial contributions in the field of music, both performing and writing. Check it out here.
Really cool rockers that have be honored in the past are Sheila E., Chaka Khan, Ronnie Spector, The Bangles, and guitarist Lita Ford. The ‘She Rock Awards’ are held Friday January 26th, at the House of Blues in Anaheim, California.
