The Weekend’s Biggest Sports Stories

If you took this weekend off from watching sports then you missed a big weekend! There were a few huge stories that were talked about that we’re going to do so here to catch you up. It all started with an amazing trade in the MLB that will blow you away.

If you live in New York then you’ll be happy about this one. The Yankees traded for Giancarlo Stanton and while they have taken on the majority of his nearly $300 million salary, they didn’t have to give up any of their big name prospects to get him. What an amazing lineup they’ll have with Stanton and Aaron Judge likely hitting back-to-back.

The Heisman Trophy winner was announced on Saturday night and to no one’s surprise, Baker Mayfield was victorious. He thanked his family and coaches of course, specifically Lincoln Riley the Oklahoma head coach. The two are not surprisingly very close. Mayfield and the Sooners will take on the Georgia Bulldogs in the Rose Bowl on New Year’s Day.

MLS’ best team was decided over the weekend as Toronto FC beat Seattle to take home the crown. Jozy Altidore was the MLS Cup MVP.
