Recently, Celine Dion took time away from her busy Las Vegas residency to pay tribute to her lifelong friend and mentor, French Canadian legend Johnny Hallyday joined by rocker Lenny Kravitz and a host of Canadian stars. Johnny lost his battle with cancer and passed away a few days ago; he was considered the Elvis of Canada.
Celine’s had a busy week, as she also participated (by video message) in the Las Vegas tribute a few days ago for the ‘Vegas Strong’ benefit, an event featuring the Imagine Dragons, Boyz II Men, and a bevy of Vegas stars that included Carrot Top and more. On a personal front, she closed on the sale of her Jupiter home to the tune of $6 million dollars this week, choosing to dedicate most of her time to her Vegas and Montreal homes.
December has never been a kind month for Celine, having lost her husband/manager Rene, and brother, both to cancer, both in the month of December over the years.
Celine has earned five Grammys and countless Juno Awards (Canadian Grammy) selling over 180 million albums in her career. Celine is very generous with her money, choosing Canadian Cystic Fibrosis and the fight again Aids as her pet charities to support.
