The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame announced its 2018 nominees last, beginning the long wait for those who might get the ‘call from the hall’ that would change their lives forever. The list includes 19 deserving artists, nine nominated for the very first time.
One of the nominees is the 60s group the Zombies. “Time of the Season,” “She’s Not There” and “Tell Her No” were outstanding songs from the 60s, and from a music group that was way ahead of its time – could you imagine a rock band nearly 50 years ago calling themselves “The Zombies?”
The Zombies began with keyboardist Rod Argent, Paul Atkinson, and Hugh Grundy. After a period of time, the three original members were joined by Colin Blunstone and Paul Arnold. Before the boys hit it big, Arnold left the Zombies to enroll into medical school, so Chris White a real catalyst joined the band. Two of the original members are still touring with the band, as they continue to reap the harvest of their early 60s journey.
The Rock and Hall of Fame will announce its 2018 class this December, with the actual induction ceremonies scheduled for Cleveland April 14, 2018.
