Great songs make you turn the knob up to 11 and send a ‘feel good’ vibe through your entire body when you hear them. In many cases, our favorite songs are catchy little tunes that were either one-hit wonders or silly little hits. Here’s a brief list of great songs that make you feel good.
“Just Ask the Lonely” from the Four Tops is a great mid-tempo ballad that puts you in heart of the Motor City. Staying with Motown, “Papa Was a Rolling Stone” from the Temptations in the early 70s was a genuine hit, haunting and enjoyable.
“Gimmie Some Lovin” by the Spencer Davis Group was always fun to listen to, and when it appeared in the Tom Cruise movie ‘Days of Thunder’ brought a little mystery to the song. “Lay Down” by Melanie, and “Lonely Boy” from Andrew Gold are ‘must haves’ for this list.
“Get Down Tonight” and “Baby Please Don’t Go” by KC & The Sunshine Band were happy, fun, and memorable songs that had wonderful opening riffs, and lyrics anyone could sing along with.
