The MLB trade deadline takes place next Monday, so we’re sure teams are scrambling to find the best deals they can possibly get before then. Plenty of teams have players they want to unload, but will they find a suitable deal? Let’s take a look at some players that could be dealt by Monday…
Justin Wilson, Justin Verlander, Alex Avila and Jose Iglesias could all be gone from the Tigers by Monday and with good reason. The Tigers are struggling and looking to find cheaper and younger contracts for the next few years. Wilson is a cheap and great relief option that many teams covet right now.
Speaking of relief options, the Braves and Marlins have two relievers that could be on different teams by next week. Jim Johnson and Brad Ziegler have been great on their respective teams and surely could be a key piece to a team making a playoff push this season.
Yu Darvish and Sonny Gray are two pitchers teams are looking at right now with both the Rangers and A’s out of the playoff picture right now. Teams looking at one or the other are Braves, Cubs and Yankees among others.
